On Friday 9 December, the Pre-Prep Choir delighted residents at James House Residential Care Home in Sandy Lodge Road with Christmas songs.  This is a regular visit that boys at St Martin’s make to the Home, and over the years we have got to know some of the residents well, including George, who will be celebrating his centenary next February.  He always has interesting things to tell the boys about when he was young.

Last Monday it was the turn of the Junior Choir to entertain some local care home residents.  We were pleased to receive a call from Northwood Nursing Home in Eastbury Avenue asking us if we could visit.  The Junior Choir was able to perform some of the hits from their “Children of the World” entertainment as well as to sing some well-known carols.

In both cases, the visit was very much appreciated by the residents and staff and boys were provided with some Christmas treats to enjoy.

Thank you to the boys for singing so well and being such good guests and to Miss Miller for organising both trips as well as the other members of staff who accompanied the visits.
