Developing confidence and identity while introducing boys to a more disciplined learning environment.

Developing confidence

The security and sense of identity afforded by form teachers is an important social need in the early years. It is often the first time boys develop a close, trusting relationship with an adult who is not a family member; this is an important step towards maturity.

Learning environment

Over the next three years, the learning environment becomes more disciplined and the boys are expected to continue their basic development, whilst tackling more complicated skills such as reading, writing and simple arithmetic.
