A Northwood student who believes “we need to save our planet” has won a national picture and poetry competition.
Ishaan Parmar, a student at St Martin’s School, in Northwood Way, had to imagine himself as a Super Hero, so he wrote a poem about Captain R who saved the planet through recycling.
He entered it in the National BIC Picture and Poetry Competition for eight to 11-year-olds.
Ishaan was also presented with a Gold Star badge for achievement at St Martin’s School.
The Year Six pupil said: “When I heard that I had won, I was amazed and surprised. I was so excited, particularly about receiving a Gold Star in assembly. I wrote the poem on recycling because I believe we need to save our planet.”
His prizes included £300 worth of colouring products, an author workshop the school and a family ticket for a UK attraction.Return to news
